Faculty/Staff Expectations
- To understand that Salem is an explicitly and distinctly Christian institution, an arm of the church, that exists for the sake of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
- All of us work together for the good of the school community wherever we are needed whether it is our job or not.
- To raise expectations of the student body in order to create a more cohesive student body; equipped academically, socially and emotionally.
Department Goals
- PreK - 2nd Grade:
To put into practice our school expectations dealing with manners and common courtesy, namely the expectation; "My manners will show respect for adults and my peers." We as teachers will encourage and reinforce good manners by our actions and in our speech, by modeling appropriate actions, class role playing, reading stories and using a balance of law and gospel to instruct our students to exhibit God pleasing behavior with others. - 3rd Grade - 5th Grade:
To integrate the teaching of Shirley English curriculum with the New Moves program.
Our primary goal, as a department, is to integrate our faith and knowledge together as we teach all subjects, while exhibiting a Christ-like love to our students. - 6th Grade - 8th Grade:
The teachers of the junior high department will implement Scripture references in their daily lessons and will be mindful of those teachable moments where they can share Christ’s love and forgiveness with their students. - SAIL Department:
The SAIL department will enhance students' learning experience through a variety of venues while enforcing school policies and values of a Christian person.
